Mobile internet is on it's way, should we get a mobile version of the new website?

Yes, looking at the future it might get a mandatory thing

Might be, as long it doesn't cost too much work to build

Please yes but it's not mandatory, the website is readable like this too

I don't see any use on mobile usage of this website so it's not needed

I don't expect me to have mobile internet within 5 years so no, it's not needed

Do we have internet on mobiles these days????

English mIRC manual
This manual is to show you, how to install mIRC. Join the right channels and how to register yourself. It's based on mIRC 6.14 but can also be used for later either earlier versions. The registering part is based on quakenet. We can't give any info on other servers since we are hosted on quakenet.

In this manual you will see sometimes the word "yourchannel", fill in your own channel there. In our case it's #rep.pub but you can also use any other channel you want to.

Installing mIRC

Download mIRC. We provide you some Mirrors. If, for some reason, you don't want to download here but from the real mIRC page, look here.

Mirrors

When interested you can also use some kind of addons on mirc. For example you can use nnscript. If you are using mIRC for the 1st time we advise you to use the standard mIRC till you know a bit more about it.

If mIRC is downloaded we will continue with installing it.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

Step 8

Now mIRC is installed you can find a shortcut named "mIRC" on your desktop and start menu.

Using mIRC

Open mIRC.

When you start up your mIRC it will say you have a trial and need to register after 30 days. They will keep saying this, also after those 30 days but don't worry. It's a free program, you can still use it after these 30 days for free.

Step 1

Insert your personal data.
Example:
  • Full name: Roy Wassink
  • email address: -email-
  • Nickname: test
  • Alternative: test
Don't fill in anything else.

Step 2

Click on "servers" after you entered your personal data. You will now get the screen above.

Choose "Quakenet" from the list and double click on it. Now a list of servers will appear, double click on "Random Server".

Step 3

Now click on "options" and you will see the screen above. Enable "connect on startup". This will let IRC auto-connect to the server next time you start your IRC.

Now click "OK".

You will now get the following screen:

Click on this icon (power icon) and when everything is right, it will now connect to the server. If no and getting some kind of error, feel free to contact us at -email-

When connected to the server, you will get the following screen:

All the channels in the list are useless and can get deleted by selecting them and push the "delete" button. I advise to do this, to keep the list clean.
Now click the "Add" button, you will get the following screen:

Fill in the name of the channel you want to join, a possible password (leave blank when no password is required) and select "Join on connect". Then click "OK" and your channel will appear in the list. You can do this with several channels when you want.

Push "OK" in the channel list and remember, if you want to join those channels right away you need to select them in the channel list and push the "join" button. You can get this channel list back at any time by pushing the button with the "#" on top of your IRC.

You are now ready to use IRC. Down here we will talk about registering on the quakenet server. It isn't required to join quakenet so it's optional. If you are still having questions, feel free to send them to -email-

Registering (auth) on quakenet

If you are on the chat, there are some limits. For ex. when you want to have admin status you need to ask an admin. You can't join some channels because the +r flag is on (only registered members can join).

Quakenet offers services for this. Bots can give you admin status but you need to be registered for this. I won't explain how a channelmaster can give you admin status but I will explain how to register yourself.

If you are connected to quakenet, type the following in chatchannel:
/msg Q HELLO <user@host.xx> <user@host.xx>
for ex. /msg Q HELLO -email- -email-

Note: You will be registered at the name you use when typing the line above. This is only the identification name, you can still change your name in whatever you want.
Note 2: At the moment you register, your name may not have any special signs included like "<, {, (, :. `, etc.

You will now get an email at the address you typed to Q. Sometimes it takes several seconds to receive the mail and sometimes hours. Be patient.

If for some reason you lost the mail with the password in it you can recover it by typing the following command in the chat: /msg Q REQUESTPASSWORD >
In here -email- is the email address you filled in earlier when you registered.

After you got the mail there is a username and password in it. Now enter IRC.

Click on the options button, it's the 2nd button from the left (look above).

Click on options on the left side of your screen. Then you will get the following screen:

Click on "perform" and you will get the following screen:

Enable "perform on connect"
Type here: /msg -email- AUTH <username> <password>

Enter the username and password you got by mail.

Restart mIRC and it will register automatic.

Note: My advise is to change your password as soon as possible. You can do this by typing in the chat screen: /msg -email- NEWPASS <oldpass> <newpass> <newpass>
Oldpass is the password you got by mail and newpass is a password made by yourself.

You have now finished registering on quakenet. If you are still having trouble with registering, feel free to ask a question on our forum.
