Mobile internet is on it's way, should we get a mobile version of the new website?

Yes, looking at the future it might get a mandatory thing

Might be, as long it doesn't cost too much work to build

Please yes but it's not mandatory, the website is readable like this too

I don't see any use on mobile usage of this website so it's not needed

I don't expect me to have mobile internet within 5 years so no, it's not needed

Do we have internet on mobiles these days????

LAN January 2007 review
From 2 till 5 January 2007 we had a LAN-Party. We came together with 7 people, brought our own pc's and gamed till late in the evening. Ending every evening with a nice movie.

The games we did were Call of Duty, Transport Tycoon, Flatout 2, Warcraft III (Frozen Throne), Unreal Tournament and Battlefield 2.

At tuesday we started building up our network. Around 3 in the noon everyone was there. The plugged in the pc's while we started to work at our local server and internet connection. We left the local server away since we weren't able to forward the port 80 (for running a website). We also had some trouble getting an internet connection but in the end it worked.

We were connected to the internet by a wireless network that was set up by a laptop. A cable to the switch was our internet connection. We had a 24 ports switch that made our network complete, all traffic got through this "modded" switch.

On the left our server and on the right our 24 ports switch, which is modded with blue lights. On the back you can see Bjorn, busy playing Warcraft III.

That was everything about the network, we also had to do other things for example, food? drink? heat? (it is midway winter you know)
The drinks were bought by 2 people the weekend before our LAN started. Also the snacks. We had a refrigerator close to us so we could get our own drinks. The dinners in the noon and evening were arranged by the mother Joost, where we were guests. By a small amount of money we got dinner and lunch, we still thank her for that.

Because we didn't wanted to freeze, we had to make some heat. Ofcourse the pc's already produced a lot of heat but we also had some gas heaters that kept us warm. We always got 2 on during day and night, a while we got 3. It wasn't cold, I can tell you that.

We slept next to our pc's. Here we settled our air-bed's. Mostly we went a sleep around 4 in the night (either morning), on thursday we made an exception by going to bed around 5:30 in the morning.

We slept next to our pc's. This is one side of the sleeping area, we got another one on the right of the foto

Like every year, we also brought our Christmas lights, you can't miss those on the foto's. People also brought there Christmas trees, most people only a small one. One person brought a normal tree, ofcourse a fake tree; we don't want to clean up the whole place because of needles.

We sat in a circle with in the middle a switch. On the back you can see our Christmas tree, surrounded by Christmas lights. On the right you can see Joost (Radmsc)

Halfway the LAN we also got a little surprise, someone brought a pc which one of us had to build (it were only part we got, not build-in yet). Guido got the job and builded in everything. You can also see that at the picture.

Guido (vleesjus), putting all kind of computer parts together and ofcourse making it working

At friday we kept going till our dinner. After dinner a few of us continued playing games till 7:30 PM, than everyone quited, packed in there stuff and left home.

Once home you are tired, sleepy and than you see this. Everything needs to be packed out and the computer must be connected again. It's over...

Here the program we had every day, it wasn't planned but this is what we did.

Tuesday:
General Info: build up.
Games: battlefield 2 and Call of Duty, Flatout 2.
Movie: Flushed away.

Wednesday:

In front you see Corne playing Call of Duty with next to him his small Christmas tree, the big Christmas tree and the small tree Marijn brought. Behind him Roy (Devil)

You see Rogier's screen, installing Call of Duty. On the left you see Guido (Vleesjus) and right of him Joost (Radmsc). And ofcourse we can't miss the Christmas tree again.

On the left you can see Marijn (Marino/Appeltaart) playing Call of Duty, on the right of him you can see Rogier. You can also see Marijn's small Christmas tree he brought with.

You see Bjorn (Kardak) playing Transport Tycoon, at the back you can see Roy (Devil) with his brother watching at his screen. And how can we miss it, another Christmas tree!

On the right you see Joost (Radmsc) and on the left Guido (Vleesjus). The cable in the middle had to go to the webcam, what didn't worked in the end.

Reviews:

Kardak:

Translation: It was a good LAN-Party with not many people, but it were enough people. Everyone stayed till the very end of the LAN. Good movies. Good food, do I still forget something?
oh yes the beer... well, I don't know >.< I haven't drunk it... was there enough?

Vleesjus:
verder was alles goed geregeld zoals bjorn ook al zei alleen het enige minpuntje was dat er geen galzen meer waren op de laatste dag.

Translation: Further was everything arranged. Like Bjorn said, only negative was that there wasn't much beer anymore on the last day.

Devil:

Translation: I think it was a good LAN-Party, much better than last time. We had less people this time. It was more pleasant, sphere was good and everyone got what he wanted, looking at the games we played. We have done much of different games. Everyone stayed till the very end and I think that's already telling a lot. The most positive is that there were more things arranged now. Simple things like, sharing of netwerk, shopping, music and the present for joost's mother, etc. It was all well arranged.

oh yes, and should I point 1 special thing of the LAN what was special I think it is, sorry Bjorn, that Bjorn forgot his raid at WoW. It sounds crazy but normally he never forgets a raid and he's already doing them for more than a year. I mean, If you miss such a raid you can look at it negative (not thought about it) but on the other side it also means that everyone was having a lot of fun and let other things behind him and kept on going with the LAN. I said a lot to me.

Marino Appeltaart:
Het enige wat ik te zeggen heb is dat het inderdaad een heel geslaagde LAN-party was. Als we het volgende keer weer zo goed regelen van tevoren dan voorzie ik geen problemen.

Translation: The only think I have to say is that it was indeed a succesfull LAN-Party. If we do it like this again next time, I don't see any problems.
